Design
Our production team and designers work closely with the client’s architects and design team to ensure that the client’s requirements are accurately represented in detailed manufacturing drawings, as well as taking account of practicalities to produce furniture that is functional and easy to maintain. Whilst we have many established and successful standard ranges, many of our clients have specific requirements; so much of our work is with custom designs, working with our customers to create unique and practical furniture solutions. As the leading manufacturer of hotel bedroom furniture in Europe we are firm believers in using the latest in technology, with the finest craftsmanship, to produce practical and durable furniture of the highest quality. Using the latest in CAD/CAM technology, our design department are able to produce fully rendered, three dimensional models of our furniture, and it is from this system that a catalogue is produced, to provide an example of some of our recent bespoke furniture designs. By creating a library of parametric models, we have the facility to alter the size, shape and material of a product on the screen in a matter of seconds, to suit the client’s requirements. The computer system then breaks down the details of the model into manufacture information for the factory, and the newly designed product can be sent directly into production. We also work closely with the construction teams to facilitate installation and interfacing with the rest of the construction project. As part of the design process, we recommend that a prototype is produced prior to full production sign-off. Pedley Furniture International uses a uniquely designed software called Phytha, a fully interactive, virtual reality software programme for creating furniture. The software allows us to design in 3D with any finish required, with the ability to view it from any angle in amazing photo-realistic colour. The ‘realtime fly through’ mode gives clients the freedom to ‘walk’ around their designed piece of furniture and get a real feel for the piece before production. |
